Pentax announces waterproof Optio W20 digital camera

Pentax have announced the Optio W20 as a replacement for its popular waterproof Optio W10 digital camera. The Optio W20 offers 7 megapixels, an anti blur mode and a 2.5" LCD in addition to its waterproof feature which allows users to use the W20 to 1.5 meters underwater for upto 30 minutes. Other key features include face recognition, auto tracking for keeping up with moving objects, 3x optical zoom lens, 21.9mb internal memory with support for SD and SDHC cards, built in digital filters, close focus upto 1cm from the subject, 640 x 480 VGA movies at 30 fps and fast operation with a 1.2 sec start up time.

The Optio W20 will appeal to a wide variety of people from individuals requiring a versatile travel camera which can be used underwater to skiers and other groups taking part in various outdoor activities. The camera is very small, slim and portable and will no doubt prove very popular as there are very few digital cameras which can be used underwater without an underwater case.
