Travel Photography: Itsukushima Shrine Miyajima Japan
Shot of the Month - November 2009

This photograph of the world famous Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima (Japan), was taken on a Kodak P880 camera with a professional wide angle Schnider zoom lens as I travelled across Japan. Miyajima lies a short distance from Hiroshima and is a major tourist attraction for overseas visitors as well as for the Japanese. The shrine is a sacred place for both Shinto followers and buddhists. It truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth and is considered a national treasure by the Japanese Govenment.
