Weather resistent GX-10 digital SLR unveiled by Samsung.
Samsung has just launched their new GX-10 digital SLR. The Samsung GX-10 is a result of the collaboration between Samsung and Pentax and is very similar to the recently released Pentax K10D digital SLR.
Both cameras comes with built in optical stabilization based on a CCD shift mechanism which allows any Pentax or Samsung lens to benefit from a four stop advantage over standard cameras and lenses. This has is a huge benefit in so many areas of photography ranging from low light photography without flash to capturing wildlife using a long telephoto zoom where a high shutter speed is normally required to counteract camera and lens shake.
The Samsung GX-10 digital SLR comes with a 10.2 megapixel CCD, optical stabilization and a large 2.5 inch LCD display. One of the major problems with digital SLRs is the accumulation of dust on the sensor over a period of time from constantly changing lenses. The GX-10 offers two methods of dust removal including an anti dust coating on the sensor and a CCD which shakes of the dust when the camera is switched on.
Another major advantage of the Samsung GX-10 over other digital SLR cameras is its' weather resistent body which is sealed against the elements allowing it to be used in the rain, on the beach or in other situations involving moisture or small particles of dust or sand. This used to be the preserve of professional 35 mm cameras and it's nice to see this feature on the GX-10 and Pentax K10D.

The Samsung GX-10 will be available in October 2006.
