The D40 offers a 2.5 inch LCD, 6.1 megapixel sensor, Nikon's 3D Color Matrix Metering II, full manual and auto controls, super fast autofocus using Nikon's Multi-CAM530 autofocus module, rechargeable Li-ion battery offering 470 shots from a single charge, bright viewfinder with 0.8x magnification, shutter speed range from 30 seconds to 1/4000 of a second, built in flash, hot shoe and support for both jpeg & raw file formats.
The Nikon D40 will be available in December 2006 for an estimated price of $599.95 for both the Nikon D40 body and its' new standard lens - the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX Nikkor Zoom. |
