Canon launches long awaited Canon Powershot G7 with 10 megapixels.
The Canon 'G' series has been very popular over the years with enthusiasts, semi-professionals, professionals and with many amateurs requiring a high quality camera with full manual controls in addition to automatic modes. The Canon Powershot G5 was released in 2004 and it was widely assumed that it was probably the last camera in the 'G' series. The announcement of the Canon Powershot G7 is a welcome surprise and I am sure this camera will prove to be just as popular as previous 'G' cameras. Some of the key features of the Canon G7 include a 35 to 210 optical zoom with image stabilization, super fast Digic III processing and a 10 megapixel sensor.
The Powershot G7 looks the part with its sleek black finish giving it a professional look. The camera offers a variety of high end features including a 10 megapixel sensor, a hotshoe for external flash, a high performance 35 - 210 equivalent optical zoom, DIGIC III image processor, full manual controls, 1 cm macro and optical image stabilization based on lens movements. The G7 has a 2.5 inch non-rotating 207k LCD, XGA movie mode at 15 fps, ISO range of 80 to 1600, face detection and a wide range of accessories. The G7 will cost $599 when it becomes available in October. |
