Travel Photography: Hiroshima by Night
Shot of the Month - May 2010

Hiroshima in Japan has become a lively bustling city after the horrific attack it suffered at the end of world war II when the atomic bomb was dropped on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Visiting the city, as well as Nagasaki, was a moving experience and especially the museums and monuments dedicated to the victims who lost their lives on that fateful day as well as subsequently through radiation poisoning and burns. This photography of central Hiroshima was taken on a Kodak P880 with a professional Schneider zoom lens and shows the bright city lights of one of the main shopping districts of Hiroshima.
