Fine art dance photography
Shot of the Month - July 2008

This photograph was taken as part of a fine art dance photography session in a central London studio. The photograph is heavily influenced by the pastel drawings of Edgar Degas who as part of the impressionist movement, used light and colour to great effect. The photograph was taken with a Nikon D40x digital slr camera and a Nikkor zoom lens. Flash heads used were by Multiblitz. The final photograph was enhanced in Adobe Photoshop to darken the shadows and bring out highlights to create a moody dance image with soft dramatic lighting.
