Fujifilm updates Finepix S9000 camera with the new 9 megapixel S9100

Fujifilm have announced the new 9 megapixel Finepix S9100 as an update to their highly successful S9000 model. The S9100 retains the 9 megapixels and 28 - 300 mm zoom from its' predecessor but adds a few improvements including a higher resolution 2 inch LCD with, slightly faster operation and overall better low light shooting and image quality through the use of a new processor. The LCD can be tilted in all directions and gains up in low light. Flash facilities have also improved with the S9100 offering an intelligent flash system which attempts to balance foreground and background exposure for a more natural look. Autofocus speed has also improved and especially in low light conditions.

Other Finepix S9100 features remain the same as the S9000. These include an ISO range of 80 to 1600, VGA 640 x 480 movies at 30 frames per second, a hotshoe, PC sync terminal for external flash connection, XD and compactflash (including Microdrive) compatibility, support for RAW file format, PASM and scene modes, USB2 for faster file transfers and 4 AA or NIMH rechargeable batteries. The dimensions of the S9100 remain the same at 128 x 93 x 129 mm and the weight of the camera is 650 g.
