Travel Photography: Kabuki-Cho entertainment district in Shinjuku, Toyko
Shot of the Month - December 2008

This photograph of the Kabuki-Cho entertainment district in Shinjuku is from our sister site at japantravelphotography.com. Tokyo is the largest city in the world and although Tokyo is a major international city, the population remains largely Japanese with very few foreigners to be seen. Kabuki-Cho is part of the darker side of Tokyo with a red light district and Yakuza and Triad groups based in the area. This photograph was taken with a Kodak P880 digital camera with a professional quality wide to telephoto Schneider zoom lens which starts at 24mm (35mm equiv.). The photograph is striking in its balance and symmetry.
