Travel Photography: Tropical fish on Phi Phi Island in Thailand Shot of the Month - August 2007
This photograph of tropical fish in Phi Phi Island was taken with a Kodak P880 camera and optimized in Adobe Photoshop CS3. The shoals of fish in the aquamarine waters surrounding the island were an amazing sight. This photograph was taken two years after the tsunami hit South East Asia including Phi Phi island and the other major resort of Phuket nearby on Boxing Day 2004. Much of the islands infrastructure including hotels and shops were already fully operational after just one year. Phi Phi is a great location for travel photography with it's beautiful islands including Maya Bay where the film 'The Beach' was filmed. Unfortunately mass tourism is beginning to ruin the idyllic island which is now more popular than ever before.
