Travel Photography: Phi Phi Don Island in Thailand Shot of the Month - April 2010
Phi Phi island in Thailand is composed of two main islands - the stunningly beautiful uninhabited Phi Phi Ley and Phi Phi Don which has a thriving tourist population. Both islands are amongst the most beautiful in Asia and a great place for travel photography. The above photograph was taken after walking up a long hill on a Kodak P880 camera with a professional quality Schneider zoom lens. After the tsunami in December 2004, the islands were left devastated with a large loss of life. It took around one year for the island to restore many of the damaged buildings and for the tourist industry to resume.
